Protecting our migrant compatriots in Tunisia

On Tuesday March 7, 2023 at 10 a.m., a press conference was held at AME headquarters. The conference focused on the situation of our migrant compatriots in Tunisia and was an opportunity to call on the international community and the African Union to strengthen measures to protect migrants wherever they are and regardless of their status.

AME members spoke about the situation of sub-Saharan migrants in Tunisia following the Tunisian President’s shocking speech on February 21, 2023.
The A.M.E, after having shown its dissatisfaction by condemning the racist remarks of the Tunisian head of state, urged the Tunisian government to present a solemn apology to the States of sub-Saharan Africa.
